Natalie Tran, who makes her Minnesota Orchestra hosting debut at the November 2022 Color of Music Young People’s Concerts, is a senior at Wayzata High School, where she is active in school theatre, concert choir and speech team. For several years she also played violin in the school orchestra. She began performing on stage at the age of five in The King and I at Bloomington Civic Theatre (Artistry). Soon after, she appeared in the Children’s Theatre Company’s production of The Wizard of Oz. The following year, she was cast as Cindy Lou Who in Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas, a role she played for two consecutive seasons. She returned to Grinch to take on the role of Young Max, and reprised it the following year. Shealso originated two world premiere characters at the Children’s Theatre Company: Standlee—the lead in Dr. Seuss’s The Sneetches, the Musical—and Tracy in The Abominables!

At the Guthrie Theater, Tran has performed in The Music Man, South Pacific, Sunday in the Park with George and Sense and Sensibility. She also acted in The Sound of Music and White Christmas at the Ordway, as well as in Albert Hearing at Minnesota Opera. Her other theatrical credits include appearances with Theater Latté Da, Walking Shadow Theatre Company, Mixed Precipitation, 20% Theatre Company, Theater Mu, Lyric Arts and Minnesota Fringe Festival. She is active in the Twin Cities film community and has appeared in many TV commercials.
